By Daniel Barnard
From Three Short Choral Works on Texts of E.E. Cummings
E. E. Cummings actually spelled this poem: “ev erythingex Cept:” and added enough extraneous punctuation to force the reader's eyes to linger on the words a bit in order to parse out the meaning. This setting utilizes the parameter of time to accomplish the same objective.
Three Short Choral Works on Texts of E.E. Cummings won honorable mention in Imagine Music Publishing’s 2009 Pathways Series Composition Contest
