By Francis Clifford
Francis Clifford composed Elegy with thoughts full of memories of an old friend that had recently passed away. From the very start, the work charts a journey from sadness and loss into peace and resolution. Starting softly with minor chords in the trombones, the introduction leads to a lyrical solo for the trumpet before building to a summit of emotion. The work then relaxes into the major key and rest at last. Included in The Pathways Series.
