Steven Liotta
Steven Liotta is a percussionist, composer and band director who has been teaching instrumental music to grades K-12 for over 30 years in Brooklyn, NY. Steve is a Conductor in the Salute to Music Borough Wide Program of New York City where he was fortunate to have conducted his students in Carnegie Hall.
He has composed and arranged pieces for concert band, marching band, chorus, orchestra and solo piano. Steve studied arranging and composition at Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA and is a member of ASCAP, NAfME, and PAS (Percussive Arts Society).
Professionally, Steve has played under the baton of some of the finest conductors such as Zubin Mehta, Robert Lyell, and Aaron Copland.
Currently, he is a percussionist for the Staten Island Philharmonic, the Brooklyn Community Wind Ensemble and works as a freelance percussionist around the NYC area. Steve, a native New Yorker, lives in Brooklyn, NY with his wife and 2 sons.
