The Loving Master said;
And so they followed, willingly,
Not knowing where he led.
We too are called from our concerns
To follow our Lord's way.
By trusting him, the heart soon learns
To cast off yesterday.
Do not be tempted by the cares
Of long deluded dreams;
Temptation's path is wrought with snares
And never as it seems.
The phantom riches we pursue
Are never ours to gain.
They fade before our eyes
Like dew after a morning rain.
"Put down your nets and follow me,"
The Loving Master pleads;
O may we follow faithfully,
Well knowing where he leads.
