Product Overview

When I was asked by Joshua to write a piece for him, his one main request was that it had Piazolla influences.

Immediately this had me thinking about Piazolla's tangos and the tango itself. The tango is known for its emotional intensity & is commonly associated with this level of strong passion and romance. This led me to the fun thought of having two family pets as the dance partners.

They are (as the title suggests) Monkey & Ryder.

Monkey is a 4-5 yr old Calico who loves to yell and step really hard on you. She has also been known to sit like a human on the couch and stare at you hunched over.

Ryder is a 4-5 yr old Sheltie that is very shy and has a nose drip when he’s anxious, but he is a completely different dog when on a leash.

One big thing they share in common is their love for food. This is the scene: The two find themselves in an old-fashioned diner. In the center of the room is a massive, michelin quality stack of pancakes. This is the drama that ensues.

Fun fact this is the 2nd work I have written inspired by pets, with the first being for my other cat Vanessa.
