A Whale of A Piece explores the tale of a lost whale on an adventure to reunite with their pod. They retrace their path calling out to any other whale along the way, hoping to find a familiar face.
The trombone melody is mainly comprised of humpback whale sounds. I listened to many hours of underwater recordings to try to embody the spirit of the whale the best I could.
For the performer, don't be afraid to be as dramatic as possible. It should feel a little silly to make some of these whale sounds.
