Product Overview
For Two Bassoons. By Jonathan Annis.
It is not difficult to find the composer's love for early music in the melodic and harmonic construction throughout This Title May Vary as each movement guides the listener from Renaissance dance music to baroque contrapuntal and imitative techniques. The piece culminates with a final fanfare movement combining new material with variations of themes found in earlier movements. This Title May Vary is written with five movements alternating between fast and slow tempi. The listener will enjoy their journey through time in music with each movement of this piece.
The title for This Title May Vary changed with each subsequent draft of the piece that was sent to the original performers. They suggested “This Title May Vary” as a joke poking fun at the composer's inability to decide on a title. This led to the composer finally settling on This Title May Vary for this work.
