Product Overview
The Fantaisie, op. 1, begins with the solo piano which leads to an introduction reminiscent of a bel canto aria, allowing for a great deal of expressive rubato. A brief cadenza leads to a theme and two variations, followed by another bel canto section in the minor mode. The work concludes with a rondo written as a stylized dance form-in this case a Bolero. The Fantaisie, op. 1, is the first of only two known solo works Verroust composed for the English Hom. I hope that this work will prove to be as popular upon reintroduction as the Theme and Variations, op. 23, has been.
