Product Overview
This work holds a special place in my heart. It is my band version of what you could call my first symphony, and I could not think of anyone to dedicate such a massive work to anyone but my lovely partner, Telly. Telly loves the wind band medium more than anyone I have ever met, having played almost every wind instrument. Each movement features an instrument that either they have played, or holds a special place in their heart. The work is centered around this idea of a brightly colored figure who roams the night (my representation of Telly).
The first movement seeks to capture the excitement of venturing out into the world for the first time and chasing after what you really want, not knowing what could happen. The second movement represents my love for them, and the humanity that comes with all of those feelings. The third movement is just meant to be fun, and to capture the spirit of what first introduced many of us to this form of artistry. My main motivation was the excitement that I get to see on Telly's face every time they hear a band piece they really enjoy.
