Carol Lander

Carol Lander's passion for music began in childhood, and led her to church musicianship at the early age of thirteen. After learning piano, guitar, flute and piccolo, she went on to study music at the College Conservatory of Music, University of Cincinnati. In her profession, she has been Music Director at both St. Jerome in California, Ohio, and St. Timothy in Union, Kentucky. Since 1996, she has held the title of Choir Accompanist at Holy-Cross/Immaculata - a lovely historic church that graces the skyline of Cincinnati, Ohio. This choir traveled to Italy in 1998 and 2006 where they performed in Florence, Assisi, and Rome. While in Rome, Carol had the great privilege of performing on the pipe organ at St. Peter's Basilica, Vatican City.

As a member of the American Orff-Schulwerk Association, Carol has also taught Orff music to Grades 1-8 at St. Joseph School in Crescent Springs, Kentucky. Although no longer in a school setting, she continues to teach private lessons on piano and flute in her cozy, self-restored nineteenth century home in Covington, Kentucky. Free-lance work as a wedding musician and recording artist completes her repertoire.

Today, Carol's greatest musical love is composition of instrumental and vocal arrangements. In 2007, she set a personal goal to create one composition a month, resulting in her debut CD Birth of the Son, a collection of Christmas piano solos that evoke the season's warmth and cheer, as well as the quiet reflection of Winter Solstice.

Outside of the musical realm, Carol enjoys gardening, backpacking, biking, running marathons and snowboarding in the mountains of New England.
