WHEN I'M GOOD AND READY was written for my band students with the purpose of providing them with a challenging and “fun” song to play. The main challenge in WHEN I'M GOOD AND READY is to keep the tempo throughout the piece, especially between measures (17-22) in the bass drum. Careful attention to dynamics will
also add excitement to the both the students playing and audience listening experience.
It is my hope that WHEN I'M GOOD AND READY will provide students with a song that they will enjoy learning to play and provide other music educators with a teaching tool that can be used to motivate and encourage their students.
WHEN I'M GOOD AND READY is dedicated to my niece Rachel Arias.
