A choral piece inspired by and inspiring to children both young and old, When I Hear Music is a beautiful yet simple composition for two-part voices with a flowing melody and heartfelt words. Brian Katona’s lyrics and music were inspired by the 2015–2016 third grade class at Maurice Hawk Elementary School in West Windsor, New Jersey, where his children attended at the time, and the result is a touching tribute to the school and the children’s expression of the importance of music in their lives. Dr. Katona is a composer, orchestrator, arranger and conductor who has scored documentary films and television pilots, and has composed numerous instrumental, choral and musical theater pieces.
