The orchestra work Song of the Ocean is written as a musical portrait of a scuba dive, beginning with the gentle rippling of waves and the reflection of the sunlight, while entering the water. As the divers descend, the fascinating underwater world comes to life.
Path of a Sunray, Wind Spirit, and Song of the Ocean form the Caribbean Trilogy, composed by Thomas J. Stief in Curacao from 2009 to 2011. The works may be performed individually, or in sequence as the Caribbean Trilogy.
