Product Overview
For Bassoon and Piano
By Verne Reynolds.
The Sonata for Bassoon and Piano was composed in 2000 and is cast in three movements: Prologue, Elegy, and Riffs and Responses. The Sonata is for the most part a serious work that explores the full potential of the bassoon-not only the various registers, but also the ranges of emotion, expression, and character. The first performance was given by bassoonist Bruce Gbur and pianist Virginia Houser on a recital in Manhattan, Kansas on 05 March 2002. I am sure that this outstanding work will be a welcome addition to the recital repertoire of the twenty-first century.
