The song Rendezvous, op. 120, was originally published in 1928 and has long been out of print and unavailable. Beach utilized a text by Lady Leonora Speyer (1872-1956), an Americanborn aristocrat of German descent. A countess in her own right, Speyer's second husband was knighted in 1906, four years after they married. Lady Speyer was a talented violinist who had suited in Paris, Leipzig and Brussels. She was awarded the Pulitzer Prize in Poetry in 1927 for her collection "Fiddler's Farewell."
