Let's Get Ready! was composed in 2006 for the Freudig Singers ofWestern NewYork, directed by Roland E. Martin, for its annual "A Christmas Pie" Concert. This is a legendary holiday concert in Buffalo that features seasonal choral music and a reception that includes more than 100 signature homemade pies baked by the singers. That year, the "Freudiggers" invited a local middle school chorus to take part in the concert and asked me to compose a new, original song for them to sing. The result was Let's Get Ready! You'll notice the lyrics include the phrase "...bake a pie..."
