Product Overview
For Two Oboes
By Richard Henderson.
Henderson composed his Four Duets to play with his students. They are a welcome addition to the repertoire, utilizing a twentieth-century harmonic language somewhat reminiscent of the "dissonant counterpoint'' promoted by Ruth Crawford Seeger. The third and fourth Duets in particular employ canon at the unison. The source material for the third Duet does not bear any tempo indication; the editor has suggested a "neutral" marking of Moderato, but performers should feel free to perform this piece as they see fit.
