Composer’s Notes
In the Shining of the Stars was written at the request of my close friend, Matthew Morris. Several years ago, he approached me with the idea of composing a piece using the combination of Contrabassoon, Viola, and Harp. I was able to deliver the piece for a recording session whereby Matt recorded this piece along with two other musicians. While dedicated to Matt and the other artists who so generously gave of their time to record this work, I also dedicate this to one of my favorite composers, Thomas Newman, whose beautiful music continues to inspire me.
