Sonata for Alto Saxophone and Piano was premiered by James Romain at the World Saxophone Congress XIII in Minneapolis, summer 2003. This work synthesizes Western musical genre and compositional techniques with traditional Chinese musical elements. It shows the fusion of different cultures and reflects the diversity of today's music.
