Jordan White

Jordan White is the Director of Music, Worship, and Education at the West Glenville Reformed Church in West Glenville, NY. In his position at West Glenville Reformed Church, White is responsible for conducting the West Glenville Vocal Ensemble and the West Glenville Praise Band. Also, under his charge is the West Glenville Bell Choir and the West Glenville Youth Instrumental Ensemble.

White is the product of many differing musical experiences. His love of music began as a child, singing barbershop-style vocal music with his father. From there, he was educated and encouraged under the tutelage of Noel Wing at Mayfield Central High School in upstate New York, where several of his early compositions were performed. White went on to study trumpet at State University of New York College at Fredonia, electric bass at Schenectady County Community College, Jazz Studies at Ithaca College, and finally Sacred Music at Goddard College, where he received his B.A. in 2007.

His Jazz compositions have been performed by the Schenectady County Community College Jazz Ensemble and the Jazz Ensemble at the Fulton County Music Educator¿s Association All-County Music Festival. In 2009, White was honored to serve as conductor of the Fulton County All-County Jazz Ensemble. White¿s sacred music has been used for worship in many settings, including the First Reformed Church of Scotia, Fowler Camp and Retreat Center in Speculator, NY, and West Glenville Reformed Church.

White's diverse musical background gives him experience in the realm of vocal music, small and large ensemble jazz, and various other styles including, classical, rock, and bluegrass. This wide array of stylistic influence gives White the versatility to compose artistic and expressive music in a number of genres and to blend these various styles into each other along the way.
