Fanfare for the Fallen for Symphonic Brass Ensemble was written at the suggestion of Bruce Spiller, who requested a piece from me for a new music concert he was doing as the conductor of the Garden City Municipal Band. Being a member of this band, I decided to take his suggestion. This piece was written as a memorial in appreciation for all of the thousands of lives lost in the war on terror. Fanfare for the Fallen was premiered on July 10, 2009 by the Garden City (KS) Municipal Band, Bruce Spiller, conductor.
