Britt Andrew Burns

Britt Andrew Burns (b. 1980) pursues a diverse composing career with an interest of not limiting himself to one genre. His music is known for being highly memorable because of his emphasis on strong melodies. He mainly composes music for orchestra, wind band, choir, and guitar ensembles. He has also composed music for film and advertisements.

Raised near Kansas City, Kansas, he spent the majority of his early life absorbed in the creation of art and other creative endeavors. It wasn't until his early teenage years that he would discover a passion for music, and began composing soon after.

Burns studied music composition, orchestration and counterpoint at the University of Kansas in Lawrence. His main composition teachers include Bryan Kip Haaheim, James Barnes and Forrest Pierce. Burns is a member of the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers (ASCAP). His concert music is published by Imagine Music Publishing and by his own brand, Indie Classical Publications. He currently resides in Monterey Park, CA with his wife Kristi and two sons.
